I am a fabric artist and print maker. I print with acrylic paint on my hand dyed fabrics. Printing processes include Gelli plate, blocks, screen, cyanotype, stencil and printing with real leaves.
Recently I have been working in the art form of wet and needle felting. I enjoy combining these pieces with leaf prints in colors that compliment the felting.
My image inspiration comes from the flowers and leaves I see on my daily walks and in my gardens. I take these memories of what I see and interpret them my way into art quilts full of color and design. Some times I work with an emotional reaction, working with the hand carved stamps images and other techniques that will best represent my feelings. I often use stamps of hands that I have carved in particular gestures.
I have been a print maker since my high school days, concentrating in Printmaking and Art Education in college. I was an Art Teacher at the Middle School level for 38 years. I have taught adult art classes at numerous Art Education conferences over the years and at a variety of local art venues since retirement.
